Provisioning and Cooking Plans

To save weight and space, I've decided that we will not be taking our camp stove, fuel, and cooking gear along. That means no hot food or drinks. Since it will be June, this shouldn't really be an issue. Plus, the way I tend to eat anyway, raw veges and other snacks should work just fine on the water, and I'll get hot food on land.

On the flip side of the weight equation, I do like to have coolers and ice. This server several benefits including:
  1. I can keep drinks and perishable food items nice and cold.
  2. I have plenty of ice for when (not if) we catch fish.
  3. I have placed the coolers in the cockpit so that they make nice steps for going forward from the cockpit.
  4. The placement of the coolers in the cockpit allows me to lay across the cockpit instead of on the cockpit seats if need to rest. I haven't had to do this yet, but I can envision a sea state where this might be useful.
I decided to purchase two, white Yeti Tundra 45 Coolers. Since Yeti is based out of Austin, I was able to pick up some manufacturer rejects for about 40% off retail! These are awesome coolers that, depending how you use them, will keep ice for several days even in the Texas heat!

In terms of food, I'm not exactly sure what I will be taking yet, but I will do my best to provision for 4 or even 5 days worth of food and drinks. I'll create a new post with  my final provisioning list and some photos once I get there.

PLEASE NOTE - ADDITIONAL PICTURES WILL BE ADDED TO THIS POST IN THE FUTURE. SO, COME BACK IF YOU ARE INTERESTED TO SEE MY FINAL SET-UP.
