International Cruising Preparation

There are a number of items I need to prepare for checking in and out of the Bahamas and getting back to the US. First, I need to install a flag halyard on Ama Mama. I need to do this anyway for racing. This flag halyard is installed on the starboard spreader and is used for hoisting the yellow quarantine flag when first entering the country as well as the Bahamas courtesy flag.

I also mounted a US flag on the stern.

The items I need to take with me to check-in include passport, drivers license, and Bahamas Cruising Permit in duplicate.

Coming back to the US, we'll need to call 800-432-1216 or 800-451-0292 within 15 minutes of arrival. We will be assigned and arrival number and have 24 hours to go to our assigned Homeland Security Customs and Border Patrol office to check-in.
